Ceri White Studios
Ceri set up Ceri White Studios in 2002 and currently specialises in wheel-thrown pots and planters, each richly decorated with its own individual character. Ceri also hand-makes home accessories such as small ceramic houses and miniature bud vases, perfect for gifts and shelf adornment!
Colour and pattern are the obvious main features of Ceri's ceramics. Her influences lie partly in a 1970's childhood where she surrounded by and absorbed everything from post-war homewares to ultra garish contemporary 70's wallpapers and fabrics. She is also keenly interested in nature-table collections (of which she has many!) and the cell structures and repeating patterns of plants and other tiny details found in nature, especially round her Perthshire home. Some of her patterns and forms simply evolve and inform the next phase of her work... there's always something different coming out of the kiln.
Ceri is a graduate of Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, and has worked in ceramic studios in various parts of Scotland for most of her working life. She now works out of her lovely studio in WASPS new creative hub, Creative Exchange in Perth.
