Lindsay & Yoshi
Scottish designer Lindsay Johnston studied Graphic Design at Gray's school of Art before merging her love of illustration with design and using traditional and modern methods of making to create illustrated textiles under her brand name Lindsay and Yoshi.
Lindsay's work is inspired by the wonderful wild of North East Scotland - land and sea. She works from her home studio in rural Aberdeenshire, often drawing inspiration from the wildlife that visits her home. Each design begins as a hand drawn illustration in pencil. Individual elements of the design are inked and scanned in to computer software to enable her to arrange the layout. Lindsay then creates a bespoke digital colour palette inspired by Aberdeenshire.
The Lindsay and Yoshi brand's core is illustration which Lindsay enjoys applying to a range of products including silk scarves, homeware, stationery and even cat toys.
The finest silks and organic fabrics are selected for printing at specialist digital printers here in the UK and are hand finished.
Lindsay's dream is to create an illustrated book and continue to cover just about anything in her Scottish illustrations!
