Laura Provan designs and creates jewellery from her home studio in Paisley. Finding inspiration from her hometown’s heritage and the natural world around us, she uses macro photography to reveal the forms, textures and colours we walk past daily.

Working in silver and gold Laura uses various techniques but is drawn to processes that create textures. Sandcasting is one of her favourites, poring molten metal into specialised sand moulds to create wearable pieces of jewellery to treasure. Laura often combines silver and gold in one piece of jewellery alongside gemstones.

Since the very beginning of her jewellery making Laura has used recycled eco metals & continually strives to make her practise more sustainable, with a renewed focus on creating meaningful pieces in a direct response to todays massed produced throwaway society.
