Junction arts by Elaine Thomson

After graduating with a degree in fine art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2003, Elaine continued to practice as a printmaker until 2008 when her focus shifted to running her own art gallery, Junction arts in Aberdeen. There she supported contemporary UK-based artists and makers for 11 years.
In 2019 she made the huge decision to return to focusing on her own creativity, closing the premises but keeping the business name. She now works from her home studio in the North-East of Scotland.

Elaine’s passion is drawing and printmaking, creating work, that she hopes makes people smile and evokes a memory. She uses her love of bright bold colour to bring her drawings or photos of everyday objects and landscapes to life. As a printmaker, she mainly works with silkscreen and risograph printing techniques. These perfectly suit her illustrative style of work.
Currently, Elaine’s range of work includes original prints, collages, greeting cards, and other products with her printed images on them. Elaine hopes to continue to develop this aspect of her business.
