From her small studio in a beautiful Highland Glen, visual Artist and maker Moira Third uses paint and stitch to create, quiet, liminal, dreamlike images.
Influenced by surrealism and minimalism Moira’s work has found its way into homes and collections both in the uk and abroad. The themes of landscape, flora, fauna, and the transformative powers of the moon, with its capacity to simplify form, are central to all of her original works. She invites the viewer to explore the space between reality and imagination, dreams and wakefulness, dusk and dawn, allowing them to craft their own story within the frame. Simplicity is at the very heart of her work.
Moira received her Honours and Masters degrees after studying Fine Art at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen.
