Abbie Lois
Abbie Lois is a Scottish printmaker and illustrator whose work focuses on folklore, the stories of people and the natural world. A storyteller at heart, she hopes to re-imagine folk history in a way that makes it accessible to the modern world before it becomes forgotten or discarded. As well as this, she often focuses on the stories of women, and tries to amplify their stories through her practise. She is often seen narrating the stories of her prints to her customers - it’s a part of her creative process as a storyteller, to let people fully immerse themselves into her work. She aims for each piece to hold a special place in the heart of the viewer, through gentle hand-drawn marks, minute details and soft colours. She regularly hosts printmaking workshops in her Glasgow studio, as well as with various arts organisations across Scotland.
